Guac is NOT Extra Today!

It’s National Avocado Day, y’all!

Today at Chipotle’s (and probably other burrito franchises) across the country, you will not have to pay for guacamole on your rice, meat, bean and cheese concoction of choice.

Other ways you could celebrate National Avocado Day:

Hug a milennial

Serve avocado toast to someone who doesn’t know it’s a thing

Save a friend from avocado hand by giving her/him one of these

Make avocado ice cream. Yum!

And while guac may be extra 364 days a year, the grace and love of God (which is worth far, far more than a $2 scoop of mushed avocado), is freely–but not cheaply–given to us every day.  Imagine the lines if God decided to hand out redemption only one day a year. Maybe we could better live into the abundant, extra guac kind of life promised to us by God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit if we got up every day and lived as if today was THE day it was available to us…and we don’t want to miss out.

What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. I Corinthians 2:12
