Fear Not in October

Really excited about embarking on a new month with our Doubting Believer Community. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the things that will be happening:

Week by week:

Week 1: Fear Not. Be Strong and Courageous for God is with you. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

Week 2: Fear Not.  You are Redeemed and Called by Name (Isaiah 43:1)

Week 3: Fear Not. Love Casts Out Fear (1 John 4:18)

Week 4: Fear Not. Lay Down your Burdens (Matthew 11:28-30)

Mission Emphasis

Our mission emphasis in October will be on how to help the homeless. Across the country, people will be celebrating Socktober, collecting and donating socks to keep our unsheltered neighbors warm through the winter. We’ll be looking at ways to run a successful sock drive, as well as learning about ways to assist our neighbors in ways that really make a difference.

October Bonus:

October ends with Halloween on the 31st (also commemorated as All Saints Day and Day of the Dead). We will be looking at ways to remember and honor those who have gone on before us and reflecting on why it is important that we do so.

We’ll continue to pray for and with one another and celebrate together, and everyone’s favorite, Dead Theologian Throw Back Thursday, will go on as well.
