Pancakes for Everyone!

Today is known by many names: Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday or Pancake Tuesday, depending on your community of origin.

In Great Britain and in other commonwealth countries, this day is Pancake Day. It goes back to the days when Christians used to give up items like milk and eggs and butter for Lent, pancakes were a great way to use up all those ingredients before the disciplines of Lent began.

So here are some pancake recipes everyone can enjoy.

Here’s a recipe for gluten-free, vegan pancakes–and they’re tasty!

If there are no food allergies or restrictions in your house, Great Britain’s Olive magazine has several tasty options to try.

And then there’s my fave, Tyler Florence’s Banana and Pecan Pancakes with Maple Butter. Yum!

And if you want to go all out for Pancake Day, host a neighborhood pancake race!
