Psalm 187–A Song of Pink
Since the Psalms were actually the songs of their day, I’ve been playing with modern songs and considering how they might be adapted as prayers. I’m not sure how I would categorize this one, but I like to think of it as a hopeful Psalm of Lament.
Ever present God,
Being in Your presence
Takes me back to a better time
When I saw everything as good
But now You’re the only thing that’s good
I’m trying to make it on my own
But we both know how that ends
Somedays all I want to do is cry
Other days, I think we might make it out alive
Show me the good, O God
I think we can still do some good.
Walk me thru the dark of the night
I can’t be alone with all that’s on my mind
Let me find refuge in You tonight
‘Cause there is so much wrong
Walk me thru the dark of the night
Cause there is so much wrong
But with you as my refuge
I just might make it
