Feel Good Friday #56

Every week Doubting Believer brings you things to read, watch or listen to that are sure to make you smile. Because we all could use a little good news.

I haven’t posted since last Friday, as I (along with many others) have been battling some upper respiratory ick that won’t go away. As I am preparing to move cross-country, this uninvited virus is interfering with my progress, so I’m sick, stressed-out and cranky…and a total delight to be around right now. This would not be the week to break my spiritual discipline of seeking out good news, for it’s those times when we are at our worst that we need to be reminded that other folks are out there being and doing their best…and that there is always something to smile about.

This one is just fun. This little girl already has a scholarship fund set up. I guess the only thing that could make it better is if the baby had been born in a 7-Eleven, but….

The trailer for the new movie on Mr. Rogers dropped this week. Can’t wait for this one to come out! (Fun Fact: Fred Rogers was an ordained Presbyterian pastor.)

Aficiondos of low-brow culture, rejoice! The ultimate combo has arrived.

I have been accused of seeing just about every movie as a tale of redemption, but this movie is the OG of tale-of-redemption movies, and it’s back in theaters in September. If for some reason, you have missed this movie, here’s your chance to see it on the big screen.

Get some rest, do something fun, connect with people in real life and spend some time with God this weekend. Make renewal a priority so that you are able to be the person God calls you to be. Take care of yourself. The world needs you.
