Feel Good Friday #72
Every week Doubting Believer brings you things to read, watch or listen to that are sure to make you smile. Because we all could use a little good news.
Those nurses in Pittsburgh are at it again. This time, dressing all the babies in Mr. Roger’s cardigans for National Kindness Day. Mrs. Rogers was there to celebrate with them all. Fred Rogers was a Presbyterian Church (USA) pastor who lived in Pittsburgh for many years.
What are you watching on the Disney plus? Jimmy Fallon and Kristen Bell bring you a history of Disney songs in five minutes.
I am a big fan of the Waffle House and, as an Southern ex-pat living in NYC, sorely miss its atmosphere and hashbrowns. The story of the Waffle House patron who jumps in to help a lone employee is my fav of the week.
My southern is really showing this week. The opening of this year’s Country Music Association Awards celebrated years of women in country…and it was amazing.
Finally, a big shout out to all the awesome people across the country who are volunteering in community centers, shelters and churches to welcome our unsheltered neighbors inside on dangerously cold nights. You are bringing the good news to so many.
Get some rest, do something fun, connect with people in real life and spend some time with God this weekend. Make renewal a priority so that you are able to be the person God calls you to be. Take care of yourself. The world needs you.
Rev. Anne Russ is an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA), currently based in New York City. Doubting Believer is an online, inclusive and progressive Christian community. Follow us on Facebook and get emails to keep up with all that is happening.
