Feel Good Friday #102

Every week Doubting Believer brings you things to read, watch or listen to that are sure to make you smile. Because we all could use a little good news.

As someone whose experience of the race at Talladega was severely tainted by the prevalence of confederate flags, and as someone who knows many NASCAR fans (including my husband), I was stunned and thrilled by the news this week. NASCAR has banned the use of confederate flags at their events. The times, they are a changin’.

“The presence of the Confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry. Bringing people together around a love for racing and the community it creates is what makes fans and sport special. The display of the Confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties.”

Like many nine-year-old girls, Cameron makes bracelets. But this nine-year-old has raised over $30,000 to help others with her.

Zoos all over the world are struggling in the midst of this pandemic. But a supermarket in Iceland is making sure the penguins at a zoo in England continue to thrive.

And the winner for most creative use of quarantine goes to this cruise ship performer who turned paper lunch sacks into high fashion.

Get some rest.

Do something fun.

Connect with people who make you happy.

Talk to God.

Take care of yourself so that you continue to be the person God calls you to be.
