10 Scriptures About Peace

There is much in our scriptures about peace. Listing 100 verses that mention peace wouldn’t even be a daunting task. But here are just a few verses that help us remember that peace is so much more than a warm fuzzy feeling or a sense of calm. It is hard fought and a blessing beyond compare.

Righteousness and Peace go together

The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert, his righteousness lives in the fertile field. The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever

Isaiah 32:16-17

The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever

Isaiah 32:17

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

James 3:18

Peace must be pursued

Turn away from evil! Do good!
    Seek peace and go after it!

Psalm 34:14

Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding

Romans 14:19

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Philippians 4:6-7

Peace comes from obedience and trust

Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble

Psalm 119:65

Those with sound thoughts you will keep in peace,

    in peace because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3

No discipline is fun while it lasts, but it seems painful at the time. Later, however, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness for those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews 12:11

Even the most peaceful have to do some Satan crushing every now and again.

And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
