You can’t rush Advent…or can you?

I know. It’s counter intuitive. One shouldn’t rush a season of waiting and anticipation, but it’s 2020. Everything is different. I think the liturgical police can take a break this year.

Advent officially begins on Sunday, but I’ve already dropped TWO Advent episodes of the Bible Stories for Big Kids podcast. (BTW: You’re a big kid.)

The first goes with the Narrative Lectionary scripture for the first Sunday of Advent.

The second is more in line with the traditional readings of Advent that make us deal with John the Baptist.

Can you tell I’m a little bit excited about Advent? I even decided to share a Christmas present early.

If you get my emails, you know there are many ways to engage in Advent with Doubting Believer and friends this year. Some require very little effort. Others are bit more challenging. Take part in as much or as little as you need right now.

Hope you and yours have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving wherever you are celebrating and that a hopeful Advent lies ahead.
