In honor of International Women’s Month, here are seven women who weren’t just the first women, but the first anyone achieve the following:

Marie Curie was the first person to win a Nobel Prize in two disciplines (physics and chemistry).


Tatyana McFadden is the first person to win the Boston, Chicago, London and New York marathons in the same year.


Lady Gaga was the first person to have 30 million Twitter followers (she currently has 84 million).


Shirin Abadi was the first Iranian to win the Nobel Peace Prize (and the first Muslim woman).


Margaret Knight was the first to invent the flat-bottomed paper bag.
