Community helps essential worker go glam for the Golden Globes
If you watched the Golden Globes this year, you know the audience was filled with essential workers–including healthcare workers, first responders, delivery drivers, flight attendants and more. As you might imagine, not many folks have the formal wear to attend such an event sitting in their closet. So this flight attendant turned to the Buy Nothing Upper East Side Facebook Group to seek some assistance.
Members offered up dresses, purses, makeup and other items. One group member, who is a professional hair and makeup artist, even volunteered to do Berger’s makeup the night of the event. What a lovely example of how the world should work all the time.
Get some rest.
Connect with people you love.
Talk to God.
Take radically good care of yourself. The world needs you.
