Welcome October

October is just what we need, God.

Just when we think we can’t take the heat, cooler weather (or at least the promise of it) arrives.

October ushers in change with beautiful and vibrant colors to show us that transition is something to be welcomed rather than dreaded.

October offers a master class in the language of letting go, as the trees shed their leaves in preparation for what is to come.

Green Day can wake up again.

Pumpkin spice lovers revel in the plethora of offerings and pumpkin spice haters revel in the mocking of all things pumpkin spice. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s the one month when it’s okay to take candy from strangers, and we get to dress up as and mock the demons that haunt us to show them they have no power here.

October will see pink-clad walkers hit the streets all over the country to celebrate survival and remember those we have lost.

October is our chance to breathe and get our heads on straight between the back-to-school frenzy and the onslaught of the holiday season.

October is a great reminder that God always knows and gives us what we need.

Amen
